Coming soon: Spanish Worship CD
Filed under Album ReleasesHere in the studio we are in the final weeks of tracking for Allí en la Cruz, Sovereign Grace’s first Spanish worship album in eight years. While our previous release Sea la Gloria Solo A Ti, consisted of songs translated from English, we are excited to be offering ten songs on Allí En La Cruz all written in Spanish. Eight of these were written by Mauricio Velarde, a member of Iglesia Gracia Soberana de Gaithersburg, who is producing the album along with engineer John Behrens. The studio has been busy with trumpets, guiro, maracas, congas, bongos, and other Latin instruments, and we’re aiming for a release date in May 2010.

Coming soon from Sovereign Grace Music (Summer of ‘09)
Filed underPlans are underway for two new Sovereign Grace Music releases this summer.
To Be Like Jesus, will be our second Sovereign Grace Kids album. The first was Awesome God, which got some great feedback. To Be Like Jesus contains twelve worship songs that teach the fruit of the Spirit in a memorable way. Through these songs kids will learn that Jesus is our perfect example of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. More than that, they’ll discover that we can’t be like Jesus unless we trust in the power of his blood to forgive us and the power of his Sprit to change us. To Be Like Jesus is geared towards kids ages 6+, and will be released near the end of June. As we have been listening to the rough tracks, we’re excited about the results and believe this album is going to encourage many kids and their families!
As we finish up To Be Like Jesus, we’re in the mid-production stages of Sons and Daughters, which we plan to release at the WorshipGod09 conference, August 5-8. The theme of the project is the joy of being adopted as God’s children through the atoning work of Christ. The vocalists will be recording in the Sovereign Grace Studio next week.
Please keep both projects in your prayers!

Sovereign Grace Music and Book Sale
Filed under AnnouncementsWe’re doing it again. Having a ridiculous sale, that is.
Last year, during the month of February, we reduced the prices of our CDs and books. The response was overwhelming. So we decided to repeat the lunacy. Here’s the deal:
From February 1–28, at the Sovereign Grace store, you’ll find these prices:
* Sovereign Grace books (23 of them, including Worship Matters, Worldliness, and Living the Cross Centered Life): $7 each
* all CDs produced by Sovereign Grace Music (including Together for the Gospel Live, Psalms, Come Weary Saints, Awesome God, In a Little While, and Valley of Vision): $6 each
* all books in our Pursuit of Godliness series (Why Small Groups, This Great Salvation, and others): $4 each
But wait…there’s more!
During February, we’re offering our normal free shipping in the continental US (library rate). But on all international orders we’re offering a discount of 50% on USPS First Class International shipping.
Why are we doing this? Well, we figure that most of us have been affected by the present economic crisis. We want to do whatever we can to make it easier for people to benefit from what we produce. We want to serve churches and individuals by providing biblically informed, gospel-centered resources at a low cost. And we’d really like to give it all away, but for now, that’s not financially feasible…
So we offer the February sale. Enjoy.
And feel free to tell your friends.

Would You Vote for This CD?
Filed under AnnouncementsWe wanted you to know that Worship Leader magazine has included our Psalms CD on their ballot for “Best Worship Compilation CD” of 2008. There are six CD’s in that category and they’re asking people to vote for their favorite. We’d like you to consider voting for Psalms, but on one condition. If you think that one of the five other CD’s is better than Psalms, you should vote for it. But if you think Psalms merits that award, your vote might mean more people will become aware of our music. The link for voting can be found at: http://www.worshipleader.com/praise-awards. And if you wanted to spread the word, we’d really appreciate it. Thanks for even considering this, and thanks for encouraging us as we seek to produce songs that serve the church and exalt the glory of our Savior.

WorshipGod08 Registration Closing
Filed under AnnouncementsRegistration for the WorshipGod conference, July 30-August 2, is closing at midnight on Wednesday, July 9. If you haven’t already signed up, time is running out! This conference, hosted by Bob Kauflin, is designed for worship leaders, pastors, worship teams, and anyone who wants to grow in their understanding and practice of Biblical worship. The conference theme this year is Rediscovering the Psalms, and it will be held at Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, MD. We’re excited to be featuring two new releases at the conference. The first is the Psalms CD, made up of twelve new songs inspired by the biblical book of prayers and praises. We’ll also have the Worship Songbook Volume 3, which includes piano scores from our last six albums. We’re looking forward to seeing how God is going to encourage and equip everyone who attends the conference. To register for the conference click here.

Recording for Psalms
Filed under Album ReleasesThis past week Bob Kauflin and producer, Sal Oliveri, were camped out in the Sovereign Grace Studio recording vocals for our upcoming album, Psalms. It will be released at the end of July 2008 at our WorshipGod conference. Two of the vocalists from previous projects joined us again. Ryan Baird, a member of West Coast Revival, flew in from the Sovereign Grace Church in Pasadena, CA. We also had Melissa Farmer drive down from Covenant Fellowship in Glen Mills, PA. New to the vocal roster were John Reilly from Reilly Band, part of Covenant Fellowship in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania, and Devon Kauflin, Bob’s son, who leads worship with the Na Band at New Attitude. The recordings went great and we’re excited about the opportunity to provide the church with twelve new songs inspired by the book of Psalms.

February Sale - All our albums for only $6 with free shipping
Filed under AnnouncementsFrom February 1 through February 29, Sovereign Grace will be selling all our CDs for six dollars. With free shipping. Of course you can download the CDs and not worry about shipping (great idea if you’re outside the U.S.). That means that for the month of February you can buy Valley of Vision, In a Little While, Savior, Worship God Live, You and You Alone, Upward, Songs for the Cross Centered Life, and every other Sovereign Grace produced CD for just six dollars. CD or download. As many as you want or can give away. In addition, we’ll be selling our two-volume songbook, with over 250 songs, for $40. During February all our piano scores can be downloaded for $1. Full sets will only be $6.
Why are we doing this? A few reasons. The primary mission of Sovereign Grace Ministries is to serve Sovereign Grace pastors who are giving their lives to build gospel-centered local churches. We want to do everything we can to help them serve the people they lead. Providing Christ-exalting, biblically faithful music and books in one of the ways we can do that. We also want to make it as easy as possible for other churches and individuals to have access to what we produce. We figured that lowering the price of everything we’ve done is a step in that direction. We also want more people to hear our music and read our books because we produced them to encourage God-glorifying, gospel-centered, Spirit-empowered living.
Basically, it makes us happy to get our materials out for the lowest price possible. All our CDs, six bucks. Don’t wait on this because these prices are only while the supplies last (and yes, we do have more than ten CDs in stock).
And feel free to help us spread the word.

New Sovereign Grace Project
Filed under Album ReleasesTwo weeks ago we recorded some of the lead vocals for our upcoming project, Come Weary Saints, due to be released in April 2008. It’s a project of primarily congregational worship songs designed to encourage faith and hope in the hearts of those who are or will be going through trials.
Ryan Baird, who is from the Sovereign Grace church in Pasadena, California, and is lead vocalist for the band West Coast Revival, sang lead on many of the songs. We were also pleased to welcome two new vocalists on this project: Tamara Baker and Melissa Farmer, from the Sovereign Grace churches in Cleveland, Ohio, and Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Even though it was their first time in the studio, both did an outstanding job.
Early next year, be sure to check out a video interview with Bob Kauflin that will explain more about why we’re producing this album as well as additional information about the songs.
